UAIC 1

UAIC 1

A responsive insurance platform for UAIC connecting users through a unified experience.

Overview

Overview

United Automobile Insurance Company (UAIC) is a US-based auto insurance provider offering a range of personal and commercial coverage products — including standard auto, SR-22, non-owner, and commercial insurance. The challenge wasn't just building a website — it was bringing a fragmented set of user needs (getting a quote, filing a claim, becoming an agent, managing a lien) under one coherent digital experience without losing the functional clarity each user type depends on. The platform needed to serve a wide and diverse audience: drivers looking to get an auto quote quickly, licensed agents seeking to onboard, lien holders managing vehicle records, and existing customers filing or tracking claims. Damco was brought in to design a scalable, CMS-ready digital ecosystem that could grow with UAIC's expanding product catalogue and serve both desktop and mobile users with equal confidence.

UAIC's digital presence lacked a unified entry point. Users with very different intents — getting a quote, filing a claim, finding an agent office — were funneled into the same undifferentiated landing experience with no smart routing, no location awareness, and no quick-access shortcuts for the most time-sensitive tasks. On the navigation side, a broad service menu (Insurance, Claims Portal, Lien Holder, Become an Agent, Careers, FAQ, Contact) had no clear hierarchy or intent-based grouping. On mobile, this complexity compounded: without a purpose-built mobile UI, users were left navigating a desktop structure on a small screen. The brief made clear that without a smarter content architecture, intent-driven navigation, and a fully responsive mobile layer, UAIC's digital presence would continue to create friction at the very moments users need clarity most.

Zip-code entry as the primary homepage action

The hero section leads with a single prompt — enter a zip code — rather than overwhelming users with coverage options. This compresses the quote-initiation path to one step and primes the system for location-relevant content delivery further in the flow.

Quick Services carousel for fast, insurance-type discovery

A scrollable icon carousel lets users identify their specific insurance need — Auto, SR-22, Non-Owner, Commercial — within the first scroll, without requiring them to read through product descriptions. The visual shorthand (icon + label) does the wayfinding work in under two seconds.

Multi-role navigation without segregated portals

Rather than routing customers, agents, and lien holders into separate microsites, the unified header keeps all destinations accessible from one persistent bar. The Login CTA anchors the authenticated experience, while navigation labels are sequenced to match the most common user journeys from left to right.

Standalone high-intent pages for every major user type

Each user archetype — the policyholder filing a claim, the agent prospect, the lien holder managing vehicle records — lands on a dedicated page with purpose-specific content, imagery, and clear next steps. This removes ambiguity at the exact moments users are most goal-directed.

Shared design system enabling consistent, scalable output

ll UI elements — form inputs, CTAs, banners, icons, login modals, navigation states — are built as reusable components with defined variants (normal, hover, disabled). This means UAIC's internal team can add new products, pages, or campaigns without breaking visual consistency.
